First Volunteerism Fair «Ponte En Algo»

In order to celebrate, recognize and mobilize volunteers in Panama, the first Volunteerism Fair “Ponte En Algo” was organized to commemorate the International Volunteer Day on December 5th.

The Volunteerism Fair, open to the public, was a great opportunity to learn about the valuable service that more than 60 nonprofits provide to our country.  The fair was also a good way for our community partners to meet and talk with people about potential volunteer opportunities. Additionally, thematic workshops such as HIV prevention, blood donation, recycling culture, addiction prevention and domestic violence prevention were offered for free. Other topics including the significance of volunteering and how to organize a community service activity were among the most popular workshops.

This event was possible through the sponsorship of United Way Panama, Alcance Positivo (USAID) and ACP and with the support of Voluntarios de Panamá, Stratego, Banco General, IAVE, MEDCOM, Universidad Tecnológica de Panamá and Morgan & Morgan.
