El pasado Sábado 18 de Octubre, United Way Panamá y Banistmo unieron fuerzas en Burunga, Arraiján para una gran jornada de voluntariado. Más de 30 voluntarios dieron su apoyo para mejorar las condiciones del CEFACEI La Amistad, donde 20 niños & niñas van a diario a recibir sus clases. Se construyó un parque, pintaron las paredes, y se actualizó el mobiliario de la escuela como parte del programa Nacer Aprendiendo.

Volunteer Activity with Banistmo in the CEFACEI La Amistad

On Saturday October 18th, United Way Panama and Banistmo joined forces in Burunga, Arraiján for a great day of volunteering. More than 30 volunteers gave their support to improve conditions in the CEFACEI La Amistad, where 20 boys & girls go daily to attend classes. A park was built, a beautiful mural was painted in the walls, and the furniture of the school was upgraded as part of the Born Learning program.

El pasado 4 de octubre, United Way Panama y Voluntarios de Panamá se unieron a Procter and Gamble para dar inicio al programa ‘Mama Segura’ en gran evento de voluntariado. En esta gran actividad, se empacaron 300 kits de higiene personal que beneficiaran a madres de la Comarca Gnäbe Bügle, como herramienta para reducir las barreras de acceso a la atención profesional del parto y disminuir la mortalidad materna e infantil en la región.

Los kits contienen insumos para asegurar la higiene personal durante su estadía en el albergue, en el período posterior al parto y condiciones higiénicas para el recién nacido, así como un entorno sano en el hogar.

United Way Panama, Voluntarios de Panamá and P&G join forces to create program ‘Mama Segura’

On October 4, United Way Panama, Voluntarios de Panamaand Procter and Gamble joined forces to start the ‘Mama Segura’ during a large volunteering event. In this great activity, 300 hygiene kits were constructed that will benefit mothers from the Gnäbe Bugle indigenous region, as a tool to reduce barriers to access medical care and reduce maternal and infant mortality in the region.

Kits contain supplies to ensure personal hygiene during their stay in special hostels for expecting mothers, in the post-natal time, and hygienic implements for the newborn.

El pasado 3 de Octubre, United Way Panamá junto a la unidad de GBS de P&G, llevó a cabo una gira médica y de higiene en el CEFACEI ‘Quiero Aprender’ en Alcalde Díaz, donde se atendieron más de 35 niños y niñas. 12 voluntarios de P&G brindaron su apoyo en las diferentes estaciones de peso y talla, vacunación, higiene dental, y pediatría.

Medical Tour in CEFACEI Quiero Aprender with P&G

On October 3, with volunteers from the GBS unit in P&G, United Way Panama organized medical and personal hygiene tour in the CEFACEI Quiero Aprender in Alcalde Diaz, where more than 35 children were benefited. 12 volunteers from P&G provided support in different sections of the tour, including: height and weight, immunizations, dental care, and pediatrics.

Durante los meses de septiembre y octubre, United Way Panamá siguió con el programa de Escuela Para Padres, esta vez patrocinado por Banistmo y Argos, recalcando la importancia de la higiene personal en la familia. Con el apoyo de P&G, además, se distribuyeron kits de higiene personal y bucal a los padres de familia y a sus hijos. Durante estos meses, más de 480 padres de familia de las regiones de Loma Bonita, Torti, Chepo, Nuevo Milenio, San Miguelito Panama, Akua Yala, Panamá Oeste, y Penonomé fueron beneficiados.

Banistmo, Argos, and P&G Sponsor School for Parents in different communities

During the months of September and October, United Way Panama continued with the School for Parents program, this time sponsored by Banistmo and Argos, stressing the importance of personal hygiene in the family. Also, with the support of P&G, kits for personal and oral hygiene were distributed to parents and their children. During these months, more than 480 parents of the regions of Loma Bonita, Torti, Chepo, Nuevo Milenio, San Miguelito Panama, Akua Yala, Panama Oeste and Penonomé benefited.

Argos Renews its Commitment to the CEFACEI Nuevo San Juan
