Junto a 60 voluntarios de Copa Airlines y el equipo de United Way Panamá, 150 niños de las diferentes comunidades de Tocumen y áreas aledañas, celebraron la llegada de los reyes magos. Junto a Copa Airlines & Coca-Cola United Way a nivel regional (en Panamá, México, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Colombia,y Brasil) celebró #DestinoFelicidad, celebrando junto a miles de niños la Fiestas de Reyes, y así cerrar la época navideña con broche de oro. A través de #DestinoFelicidad, por cada mención del hashtag, se logró destinar un regalo para más de 3,000 beneficiarios de los programas de United Way a nivel regional.

150 Boys & Girls Celebrate The Holiday Spirit & their #DestinoFelicidad

Along with 60 volunteers from Copa Airlines and the United Way Panama team, 150 children from different communities and surrounding areas in Tocumen, celebrated the arrival of the Magi. Along with Copa Airlines & Coca-Cola, United Way at a regional level (in Panama, Mexico, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Colombia, and Brazil) organized #DestinoFelicidad, celebrating with thousands of children theFiestas de Reyes, and closing the Christmas season with a bang. Through #DestinoFelicidad, for every mention of the hashtag, it was possible to allocate a gift to more than 3,000 beneficiaries of United Way’s programs regionally.

El pasado 29 de Enero, 25 voluntarios de Banistmo participaron en una actividad de voluntariado en el CEFACEI Los Cariñositos en la comunidad de Tanará, Chepo. La actividad consistió en una construcción de un parque infantil para los 52 estudiantes de la escuela y la pintura de mural, el cual liderado por nuestros socios de SembraArte. A través de la construcción de parques y el embellecimiento del centro, se logra rescatar el derecho al juego de los niños, ofreciéndoles un espacio recreativo seguro en su comunidad.

The ‘Playground Movement’ Arrives at Tanara, Chepo

On January 29, 25 Banistmo volunteers participated in a volunteer activity in the CEFACEI Los Cariñositos in the community of Tanara, Chepo. The activity consisted in building a playground for 52 students and mural painting, which was led by our partners from SembraArte. Through the construction of parks and beautification of the center, the aim is to rescue the right to play for children by providing a safe recreational space in their community.

Copa Airlines & Coca Cola lanzaron la campaña #DestinoFelicidad para compartir la magia de la Navidad junto a los beneficiarios de United Way en Panama, Costa Rica, Colombia, Guatemala, México & Brasil. Gracias a esta campaña, los chicos beneficiarios recibirán un regalo navideño a los beneficiarios de United Way.

Launch of #DestinoFelicidad with Copa Airlines & Coca-Cola

During the month of December, Copa Airlines and Coca Cola launched a campaign to take the magic of Christmas to United Way’s beneficiaries in the Latin American region, including Panama, Colombia, Costa Rica, Brasil, Guatemala, and Mexico. For every use of the hashtag #DestinoFelicidad, Copa and Coca Cola will make a gift for a child in one of these countries.

Junto a voluntarios de P&G, se organizó en el Colegio La Mata de Coclé, una fiesta navideña para más de 390 niños y jóvenes. Durante toda una mañana, United Way Panama y P&G compartió una mañana llena de magia y emoción con los estudiantes del colegio, donde hubo varias estaciones donde los más chicos disfrutaron de pintacaritas, brinca brincas, shows musicales, y más.

Together with volunteers from P&G, United Way Panama organized at the Escuela La Mata in Cocle, a Christmas party for over 390 children and youth. United Way Panama and P&G shared a morning full of magic and excitement with the school’s students, where there were several stations where the kids enjoyed face painting, a magic show, and more.

El pasado 5 de Diciembre, celebramos el Día Internacional de los Voluntarios Panamá en la USMA Panama. Celebrando este día tan importante, junto a diputados, funcionarios públicos, empresarios y miembros de organizaciones no gubernamentales se realizó la firma simbólica de Ley de Voluntarios en Panamá, la cual reconoce, organiza y moviliza el voluntariado en nuestro país.

Además de presentar la Ley, el evento se reconoció a tres figuras importantes del movimiento voluntario en Panamá. Como el Voluntario Corporativo del Año, se reconoció al Sr. Nicholas Psychoyos, Presidente del Grupo Rey; como Voluntaria Social del Año a la Sra. Margoth Sapler, Presidenta de la Fundación Pide un Deseo. Además se reconoce a Maria Belén Hoffman de Fundación Soy Capaz, quien es la voluntaria Ponte En Algo 2014.

Celebrating the International Day of the Volunteer

On December 5th, United Way Panama along with several partners, celebrated the International Volunteer Day Panama at the Universidad Santa Maria La Antigua. Celebrating this important day, with congress members, civil servants, businessmen and members of NGOs, a symbolic act was held to approve the first Volunteering Law in Panama, which recognizes, organizes and mobilizes volunteers in our country.

Besides presenting the Act, the event recognized three important figures of voluntary movement in Panama. As the Corporate Volunteer of the Year, Mr. Nicholas Psychoyos, President of Grupo Rey was recognized; the Social Volunteer of the Year recognized Mrs. Margoth Sapler, President of the Make a Wish Foundation for her work. Also, Maria Belen Hoffman was recognized a the Ponte En Algo volunteer of the Year 2014.
