Panamá, 22 de Marzo de 2012. En días pasados, United Way Panamá, La Agencia de Cooperación de Estados Unidos (USAID) y Voluntarios de Panamá ofrecieron un taller de capacitación a 34 ONGs sobre la plataforma virtual Ponte En Algo. Esta herramienta innovadora permitirá conectar a jóvenes, ciudadanos en general, empresas e instituciones con las oportunidades de voluntariado, empleo, formación y otros recursos existentes en las organizaciones no gubernamentales.

Ponte En Algo contará con una página exclusiva para el uso de las organizaciones no gubernamentales nacionales, desde la cual se podrá acceder a un centro de recursos que apoyará a las ONG a visibilizar su labor, movilizar voluntarios, intercambiar información y acceder a recursos informativos y de gestión. El lanzamiento de la plataforma virtual está prevista para finales de abril de este año y contará con la participación de alrededor de 50 ONGs.

Panama, March 22nd, 2012. United Way Panamá, USAID and Voluntarios Panamá trained 34 NGOs through a workshop, on how to use of the new virtual platform Ponteenalgo.com that will be launched at the end of April. This new innovative tool will connect citizens, young adults, companies and NGOs to volunteering, job, training opportunities available through the existing NGOs in Panama.

Ponte En Algo will additionally count with a web page for NGOs exclusively, from which the NGOs will be able to access a resource center where they will be able to create a profile, post volunteering opportunities, mobilize volunteers, exchange information and access a virtual library.

El pasado sábado, United Way Panamá organizó una actividad donde voluntarios de COPA, FEDURO y PROCTER & GAMBLE unieron esfuerzos para construir un parque infantil a beneficio de la Ciudad del Niño en Chorrera. Además del parque, los voluntarios impartieron talleres didácticos para promover la creatividad de los niños que acuden al centro y remodelaron el jardín central del parque. Fue un día lleno de diversión, compañerismo y amor por el voluntariado donde colaboradores y familiares pudieron aportar su tiempo para trabajar por un mejor Panamá.

United Way Panamá remodels children’s park in Ciudad del Niño in Chorrera

United Way Panamá organized this past weekend, an activity where volunteers of Copa, Feduro and Procter & Gamble came together to build a park to benefit the 200 children that attend the “Ciudad del Niño” in Chorrera. Besides building the park, the volunteers organized workshops that promoted the creativity of the kids that attend the center and they also remodeled the garden around the central park. It was a day full of fun activities where workers from different companies came together as a whole donating their time and effort to volunteer for a great cause.

Panamá, 9 de marzo de 2012. Con el objetivo de fortalecer a las ONGs en nuestro país, USAID, United Way Panamá, SumaRSE, Banco General y la Universidad de Louisville unieron esfuerzos para lanzar en Panamá el primer Diplomado de Gerencia de ONGs. El Diplomado se llevará a cabo entre marzo y junio con una duración total de 120 horas y 13 módulos que serán impartidos por distintos expertos en temas relacionados con la gerencia efectiva de ONGs.

Los módulos a impartirse tocarán temas como Gobernabilidad, Alianzas Público-Privadas, Administración de Finanzas, Gerencia de Voluntariados entre otros, que ayudarán a que las labores administrativas y financieras dentro de las ONGs sean más eficaces.

En este primer Diplomado, participarán 30 directos ejecutivos de diferentes ONGs y una vez terminada la capacitación, se organizará una feria de ONGs para fomentar un espacio innovador con el que se crearán alianzas público-privado y se fortalecerá la participación del sector privado con las ONG de nuestro país.

United Way Panamá participates in first Non-Profit Management Certificate launch in Panama

Panama, March 9th of 2012. In order to strengthen the NGOs in our country, USAID, United Way Panama, SumaRSE, Banco General and the University of Louisville joined forces to launch the first Non-Profit Management Certificate in Panama. The Certificate will take place between March and June, will last 120 hours and contains 13 modules that will be taught by various experts on issues related to the effective NGO management. The participants will receive the Certificate in Non-Profit Management upon completion of the modules.

Among the topics that will be discussed, Governance, Public-Private Partnerships, Financial Management, Volunteer Management can be mentioned. Covering these topics will make the financial and administrative tasks within the NGOs more effective.

Executive Directors of 30 different NGOs will be participating in this first Non-Profit Management Certificate and once the course is over, an NGO fair will be organized to promote an innovative space to create public-private partnerships and strengthen private sector participation with NGOs in Panama.
