El sábado 29 de agosto, United Way Panamá apoyó la iniciativa nacional de reforestación ‘Alianza Por El Millón’ del Ministerio de Ambiente de Panamá, junto a la Cancillería de Panamá y la Autoridad del Canal de Panamá. Junto a más de 50 voluntarios de Student United Way – AIP y Procter & Gamble Panamá, se logró sembrar 1,200 plantones en 1 hectárea en el el IPT de Chilibre. El objetivo de esta iniciativa es plantar un millón de hectáreas de especies forestales en 20 años, con lo que será posible cumplir las metas del Plan Nacional Forestal y coadyuvar para convertir a Panamá en un país de bajas emisiones de carbono.

United Way Panama joins the ‘Alianza Por El Millón’

On Saturday August 29th, United Way Panama supported the national reforestation initiative “Alianza Por El Millón’, lead by Panama’s Ministry of Environment, along with volunteers from the Foreign Ministry and the Panama Canal Authority. Along with more than 50 volunteers from Student United Way – AIP and Procter & Gamble Panama, 1,200 seedlings where planted on 1 hectare of land in the school IPT Chilibre. This initiative´s goal is to plant one million hectares of trees in 20 years, which will be help meet the goals of the National Reforestation Plan and contribute to turn Panama into a low-carbon emitting country.
